Privacy Policy — shorts-engine
Last updated: 11 June 2026
shorts-engine is a private, single-user command-line tool operated by its author. It is not offered to the public, and it does not collect, store, or process any data about anyone other than its author.
Use of YouTube API Services
shorts-engine uses YouTube API Services to upload original videos to the author's own YouTube channel and to read the author's own channel statistics. By using YouTube API Services, this tool is bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
What data the tool accesses
- Authorized account data only: the tool accesses the author's own YouTube channel (video uploads, video metadata, and the channel's own analytics) through OAuth 2.0 authorization granted by the author.
- No third-party data: the tool never accesses, collects, or processes data of any other YouTube user, viewer, or channel.
How data is stored
- OAuth tokens are stored locally on the author's personal computer in a configuration file. They are never transmitted to any third party and never leave the author's machine except to authenticate directly with Google's servers.
- A local log of the tool's own uploads (video IDs, timestamps) is kept on the author's machine for bookkeeping. No analytics data is shared with anyone.
- The tool uses no cookies and no tracking. This website is a static page with no analytics and no data collection.
Data sharing
No data is shared with, sold to, or disclosed to any third party.
Data deletion and revoking access
- Stored authorization tokens and local logs can be deleted at any time by deleting the tool's local configuration files.
- Access granted to the tool can be revoked at any time via Google security settings: https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions (or myaccount.google.com/permissions).
- For any privacy questions or deletion requests, contact simonsaidgodoit@gmail.com.
